BodyMagick Temple is where we ditch the shame, own our shine, and turn every move into a celebration of self-love.
We invite all levels, all bodies, all genders to join us in building community in Portland, OR.
Drop-In Classes
Each class is taught by an experienced performer with special expertease!
Getting on stage is more than nuts and bolts of pulling together moves and costume pieces, it's a personal exploration of your power and joy. In BodyMagick Temple we hold a protected space for you to explore new ways of expressing yourself and become a bolder, more confident and juicy you.
The classes in our Burlesque 101 Series help new performers create a debut act in a supportive space, but if you don't need the full package, you can drop in to select classes for assistance in a particular area.
Most classes are 6:30-9pm. The Glam Shot Photos are Sunday, August 2, starting at 11am. Glam Shots are scheduled to last 3 hours, and we recommend leaving additional time for yourself.
All classes take place in our private studio in Southeast Portland. Address and additional details shared upon registration.

Act Development & Burlesque Basics
Act Workshopping
THE CLASSES:
Act Development -- July 1
Need help honing and act idea, selecting a song or connecting to your intention? Join Eva for Act Development to get a clear direction and ensure that your performance is as unique as you.
Then train Basic Burlesque like bumps, grinds, shimmies and struts with an emphasis on which muscles to use for clean and sensuous movement and safety for longevity.
Act & Movement Refinement -- July 29
Workshopping -- September 16
Perform your act -- or what you have -- and receive feedback from the group and the instructor on how to complete and polish it. Perfect for guidance in movement, storytelling and practice performing!
July 29 is best if you need direction on choreography and flow.
September 16 is best for adding finishing touches, and includes additional training and support on professionalism and getting booked.
ABOUT EVA:
Eva D’Luscious has been bumping and grinding the patriarchy away since 2010. Focused on building community and celebrating all expressions of sensuality, her students dubbed her the Godmother of Glitter.
Eva has performed at the Edmonton Burlesque Festival, New Orleans Nerdlesque Festival, Oregon Burlesque Festival, Tease-O-Rama, Burning Man, The Edwardian Ball, Hubba Hubba Revue, and is a cast member of West Coast's longest running weekly show, Sinferno Cabaret.
She produces Burlesque shows in the Pacific Northwest, including Whole Lotta Love Burlesque Tribute to Led Zeppelin, and guides monthly online New Moon Circles and in-person JourneyDances.

4P's of Striptease & Music Mapping -- July 8
As a Burlesker your first prop is your clothing, and peeling with confidence and style is essential. Learn the How-to's from Temera.
Then explore how to map your music to determine the best moments for specific reveals, poses and movements. Plus, WTF do you do with your hands!
Workshopping -- August 26
Practice performing for the group and receive feedback to complete and/or level up your act.
This is some of the helpful information you can get on what excites an audience and helps progress your storyline before taking an act to the stage.
ABOUT TEMERA:
The Rose City's Titillating Tease, Burleseque performer and hosTITs, Temera Titty has been serving up cheese and cheek on stages across the world!
Temera performs, hosts, and produces shows regularly in Portland, Oregon’s prolific burlesque scene. Her performances have been selected by the Oregon Burlesque Fest, Booklovers Burlesque Fest, Metalesque Fest, Texas Metalesk Fest, and the Pacific Northwest Burlesque Fest.
She's performed internationally at the Kootney Burlesque Fest (Nelson, BC, Canada) and the Vicenza Burlesque Festival (Vicenza, Italy). Often blending goofy with glamorous to bring a comedic twist to the stage, Temera won the “ROBBED!” judges choice award at the 2024 Portland Comedy Pageant.

Costuming -- July 15
Learn how your costume helps tell your story and create your character, and how to effectively and affordably build the look you desire.
Bring your ideas, sketches and pieces and receive feedback to build a cohesive look, possibilities for construction and embellishment, where and how to source upcycled pieces and ideas for surprising reveals.
ABOUT FORCE:
Force Majeure, is an award-winning and title-holding burlesque performer and costumer, a transgender human, and above all, a passionate artist. They have performed burlesque for 7 years, but sewing for decades!
They delight in empowering all performers to create the art they want to with the skills they need to do it.
A recent transplant to Portland, Force formerly taught many classes through the Metro Detroit Burlesque Academy, including pattern drafting, headdress construction, costume cohesion, and more.

Hair and Make-Up

THE CLASS:
Hair and Make-Up -- July 22
Hair and Make-up tell your story, build your character and keep you visible on stage. But there are special techniques for creating a look that feels good, looks polished and stands up to stage lights and long nights.
In class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of what makes great hair and make-up for the stage, and techniques to create the looks you desire yourself.
This is a hands-on exploration to get the look you desire. Bring your hairstyling plans and/or hairpieces and make-up kit to practice your skills and receive feedback to refine them.
ABOUT TRISHKY:
Trishky has been performing in one way or another since they were seven years old. A graduate of BodyMagick Temple 101 and 201+ Series and frequent Teasettes performer, they are thrilled and forever grateful to have found the BodyMagick Community.
Trishky is an award-winning, published and trained artist, licensed by Northwest College of Beauty and certified by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics as well as Christian Dior Artistry.

In our visual, social media world, posed promo photos are a must for applying to shows and building your own social media presence. Go beyond bathroom selfies for professional images you're proud to share.
Barbie’s hands-on posing workshop covers learning your best angles and finding poses that fit your style and character, while incorporating classic burlesque and pinup poses you can incorporate into your acts.
The class includes three lightly edited images you're free to use for your portfolio, show promotion and even merch! Additional photos may be purchased directly from Barbie.
ABOUT BARBIE:
The Rockabilly Barbie has been modeling for over two decades and her love of the pinup lifestyle and dance led her into Burlesque; where she’s now been producing and performing since 2022!
She’s performed all over Seattle, Spokane, Portland, Denver, Las Vegas and Hollywood, and on stage with Macklemore and Sir Mix-a-lot!

Can I purchase several classes?
Absolutely! Unfortunately, the shopping cart we use is behind the times and isn't able to add several classes at a time. You can make multiple purchases, or email info(at)bodymagicktemple.com to pay directly.
Do you offer trades or special pricing?
Trades aren't available at this time, but we are building a scholarship fund to assist marginalized groups, including single parents. Please contact us if you're interested in this.
Does this ensure me a place in the Fall Showcase?
We prioritize students who have completed a full series. We mainly produce shows so they have a stage. But we do accept applications and invite additional students when we have space in our shows.
Why can't I sign up for a class/es?
